Starryville at Dogwood Tavern this Saturday
First, I thought that Dogwood was some kind of a canine sculpture, carved in wood. But no! All wrong, ignorant foreign national that I am. From the Dogwood Tavern web site, I learned that Dogwood is "Our state tree & flower. The word comes from dagwood, the slender stems of very hard wood for making 'dags' (daggers, skewers)."
Anyway, This won't change our plans: we will be playing at the Dogwood Tavern in Falls Church this Saturday night, August 28. Show starts at 9pm, up until there's no more beer to drink at the bar. Come and help us set up the Dogwood on fire!!!
Beer Garden for Starryville this Friday
Starryville will be playing in heaven this Friday August 6. Yes, we will be in the beer garden of Westover Market in Arlington, VA. They claim having a list of 800 beers!!! Isn't that beer heaven? The show starts at 6pm, up until 10pm. Come through the great wall of beer and enjoy couple of refreshing foamy beverages with us.
Get Down Under, Saturday, July 24.
Need to cool down, and fight the heat wave that melts you down? Just get underground and chill out with us this Saturday July 24th: we will be playing Down Under The Occoquan Inn in Occoquan, VA. But don't get us wrong, our cold wave effect will be partial, and will turn quickly into a heat storm of rock'n'roll!

Jeez! Simple Minds are playing at the Voix du Gaou festival which takes place 5 minutes away from where I stay! Unfortunately I'll be gone by that time. Too bad I'll miss this very influential band of the 80s! Listen to New Gold Dream, this is excellent: I'm still jealous of the bass sound in this album, and the way they play of course.

Bud Band of the Month-On Tap Magazine
Starryville is hot off the presses in the June issue of On tap Magazine. We are highlighted as their Bud Band of the Month. This along with out contest victory and upcoming show June 11th at Celebrate Fairfax, well that is just pretty damn cool!
